2 Pack Organic Shaving Bars
I love the fragrance, and it made the razor glide over my skin nicely.
I have sensitive skin and I hate to shave. For years I have been using liquid hair conditioner because it irritates my skin less than traditional shaving cream, but since I switched to etee's shampoo and conditioner bars I decided to try the shave bar. Love, love, love it! I got a really close shave with no irritation! And I was able to shave again without irritation sooner than I have been able to with traditional shaving cream or liquid hair conditioner. Since it was a two-pack I gave one shave bar to my mom. She loved it, too! This is all I will buy from now on.
I was so excited to try a shave bar and even more thrilled that it came in lavender! The package smelled amazing when it arrived and I couldn't wait to open it. Personally I prefer a bit more of a lather to shave, it's easier to see if I missed any spots. At times I use regular baby oil which gives an amazingly close shave so I was hoping for the same with this bar. The first use left my skin feeling very dry and itchy but I assumed it was simply because it had been some time since shaving (it's winter and jeans weather so who cares if my legs are smooth). Overall the shave didn't feel super amazing or super close but again, it had been a while. A few days later I gave it another try (with a fresh blade just in case) but got the same results. Average shave and very itchy/dry skin; I applied extra lotion again and hoped for the best. Sadly this makes my skin feel like I shaved with simple bar soap. While I want to love this product, both for the scent and for the plastic free option but it appears my skin just isn't happy with it.
So the Black Forest scent was a little more bitter than I was expecting, but it's still pleasant balsam/pine sort of smell, it just skews a bit more to pine sap than Christmas candle, but it's nice and not too strong, overall. My husband couldn't guess the scent of it beyond "uhh...woodsy?" when I asked him.
I use it for underarm and leg shaving, and it gives a really smooth easy shave.
I don't notice a lingering scent after use, which is how I prefer it. It isn't really moisturizing, but it also isn't drying, so my legs are the same after shaving as after using a midrange shaving foam, not as soft as after using a moisturizing one, but not dried out like the times I've run out of shaving foam and used regular body wash or hair conditioner to shave.
It's a little bit filmier to rinse off than a 'normal' shaving foam in a metal can dispenser, but overall I'm not even taking a star off, cause it works better than any mainstream shaving cream I've used.
I like it, I'll buy it again whenever it runs out, but it seems like it'll last quite awhile.
Convenient, effective, smells good, no more hassle than a can and so much less burden on the environment. Needs some kind of pouch for travel - perhaps another product possibility: I’d but it. That’s the one advantage of (small travel) can of shave foam. But with a travel container that would fit the bar, that’d be solved. But it’s a great product all around, really, very happy I bought it. I got the wood soap dish which works wonders on the counter, no residue, good combo.
