Very comfortable

We needed more masks and these seemed nice. I like the coverage! The pleats make sure your whole nose-to-neck is covered and I need much less "fiddling" to get it to cover up :)

Face Mask

Super comfortable. This is the second set of masks I have bought. Love that they are reusable. The filters fit in easily. I feel pretty safe with the added protection of the filter. Great product!!

Nice material but don't fit well - no nose wire

I love the idea of these masks with the pocket for a filter. The cotton is super soft and comfortable, which is really nice. Unfortunately they are just huge on me - the ear straps are way too long, and the fabric hangs below my chin really far without making much contact with my lower jaw line so there isn't really much protection there. Also, there are huge gaps at the bridge of my nose because there is no wire, which was very disappointing. They could be great if a nose wire was added and they just fit better overall. I realize that they probably fit better on people with larger faces/heads, but my face is very narrow and these are just huge on me.

Good masks, good price for organic

These masks are well made and the filter pocket is highly functional. They are a little large for smaller female faces but not enormous. I bought them for my high school Senior and she finds them functional and comfortable. I didn't give 5 stars because they aren't very adjustable.

Good mask

I was worried that these face masks would not work for my big face because their not adjustable. But I was wrong. The loops are still more than enough for me. So its not tight, and I like the breathability. Also did not shrink when I washed it

etee's 100% organic cotton face masks are handmade in Toronto.  They are reusable and washable, and therefore do not contribute to the global shortage of masks, while providing an alternative to single use synthetic masks.  

Each mask is double layered with elastic loops and a built-in pocket for replaceable filters.

Jen - featured above - developed the pattern (after a ton of research) and sewed the first batch of 200.  She's an awesome woman and a key member of our production team.  Since the Covid-crisis she's been staying home a couple days a week to help with her kids and so this sewing project is just one of many she's been playing with while at home.

How Effective are Cloth Masks?

There has been a lot of debate about the wearing of masks - some scientific and some cultural.  The opinions vary greatly depending on the Country of origin, but in recent days, western experts are starting to embrace the idea.   And while N95 'surgical' grade masks should be kept for front line workers, cotton masks such as these are gaining support in helping to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, particularly for people who are carrying the virus, but don't have symptoms.

"Writing last month, Adrien Burch, an expert in microbiology at the University of California, Berkeley, noted that "despite hearing that face masks 'don't work,' you probably haven't seen any strong evidence to support that claim. That's because it doesn't exist.
In fact, there is evidence of the exact opposite: that masks help prevent viral infections like the current pandemic....

"Based on the research, face masks are much more likely to help than to hurt," according to Burch. "Even if it's just a homemade cloth mask, if you wear it correctly and avoid touching it, the science suggests that it won't hurt you and will most likely reduce your exposure to the virus."

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:  Avoid touching your mask while on your face.  After use, put it directly in the washing machine and be sure to wash your hands.
