Should We Use Compostable Stickers?

Thanks for your input. So here are the questions I was hoping you could answer in the comments below.

If you removed a lip balm cap sticker what would you do with it? (And let's assume you didn't know it was compostable, because it's hard to make it obvious that it is).

put it in the garbage?
put in in your commercial compost bin (and do you even have access to a commercial compost bin because you can't compost these in your backyard)?

buy the cheaper plastic stickers?
buy the compostable plastic stickers (note: paper stickers usually have plastic reinforcements)
Stop stickering altogether, because what's the likelihood that someone will 'tamper' with the lip balm while it's being shipped from us to you?

I agree with previous comments that no sticker/ seal is necessary. Save the cost and leave it off.

If I were you I wouldn’t put the sticker on it. Most people wouldn’t even know it was missing! Skip the sticker to help the earth! Besides it’s hard to find commercial composting in the US.

Is there a way to look into not using one at all? Tamper proof is nice, for the cap to stay put during shipping is also very nice. But is there a third option? I’m sure you are looking into it but maybe contact other shops or check stores that sell these types of products. I personally have seen cardboard lipbalms with nothing, the lids are just longer. My motto I hope to live up to is always choose right regardless of cost. We have to vote with every dollar. So I say keep the best option for the environment. We have to collectively do it as much as we can.

Skip the sticker. Commercial composting is not very available here in the US, so it goes in the trash.

Who needs a sticker anyway? It tears at the tube when you pull it off. The cap fits nicely without the sticker. Just say no to stickers because regarding the sticker, less is more.
