  • My biggest challenge is that I’m no longer going to the grocery store so I can’t use my reusable bags when family members/ instacart are going out for me. Recycling much harder to do because we are getting way more plastic bags than we are used to.

  • Definitely takeout and grocery delivery from local businesses!

  • Trying to avoid single use plastic when trying to support restaurants that deliver. I don’t have a car so delivery is essential, but it’s hard to get the restaurants to not place food in non-plastic containers and bags. Some will use compostable containers but then put everything in a plastic bag….arrghhh…..

  • Single use cutlery is haunting me. Getting take out we don’t always remember to ask them to not put any in and as such we’ve ended up with a bunch. At the same time while trying to have socially distanced meet ups for meals outside we’ve been given a lot of plastic cutlery to use as well. It’s everywhere right now and I hate it.

  • We returned from the States when COVID first started and had to self-isolate for 2 weeks. As a result, we ordered all our groceries to be delivered. They arrived double bagged in plastic. Ugh. To top it off, the grocery store mixed up our order and gave us a large jug of water and a six pack of gatorade. They couldn’t take it back because of COVID.
We have since been using the plastic bags to collect garbage on our neighborhood walks. The large jug of water is now in our earthquake kit. My youngest son was very happy to have some Gatorade too. We just have to do our best regardless of what happens I think.
