  • The biggest challenge in staying plastic free during this COVID19 time is not being able to use my own reusable shopping bags. I always carry at least 6 in my purse and haven’t been able to use any of them

  • Not being allowed to bring reusable bags to grocery store. Solved by wheeling cart to car and loading bags that way. Rest of the time no real challenge. Shipped on line at Zero Waste. Did go out, did not go to the big box stores, really supported local businesses.

  • The biggest challenge has been the amount of disposable packaging regarding food. Some places banned reusable cups for refills for a time and others restricted cloth bags for produce or carryout. Restaurants are using so much disposable it’s saddening. My biggest disappointment, however, has been all the bulk items at our local grocery is pre-bagged – and I don’t get to refill my jars.

  • My biggest challenge is that grocery stores won’t allow me to use my cloth produce bags because cashiers won’t touch them. I still use my own shopping bags and bag my own groceries, but the produce bags really bum me out.

  • I think the biggest challenge for staying plastic-free for us during COVID-19 has been getting food. The local grocery stores are not allowing reusable bags and don’t have paper options. The CSA we use to get local fresh produce pre-bags everything in plastic bags.
