  • All the plastic, ie: bags, containers, packaging on the food, etc. I try not to go to the store best I can, but the plastic is so overwhelming

  • For our family, it has been really tough to be able to afford the plastic-free alternatives we prefer. I was no longer working and my husband was quarantined for 2 weeks, leaving us much shorter on income than we’ve ever experienced. To try to continue being able to afford all of our bills and necessities, we were not able to afford to purchase things, especially when the more disposable option is so much cheaper than the better-for – you option!

  • Bags, bags, bags, bags, bags… and hand sanitizer.

  • Plastic packaging on groceries! I’ve been unable to use my own containers at bulk stores and even though I’ve been trying to support local businesses and farmers by online ordering and curb side pick ups, they are all using so much plastic to package their food in!

  • With cooking at home more, I am buying more fresh groceries. I am finding it near impossible to get meats without excessive plastic. At one point the meat counter was closed and could only buy prepackaged meats which were all wrapped in plastic. I found an organic farmer to buy directly from, but everything is prepackaged in plastic.
